Advantages of Industrial Sweepers and Scrubbers Over Manual Cleaning

Many warehouse owners and facility managers are already aware of industrial sweepers and scrubbers, and how beneficial they are to their business as a whole. But for those who are still using traditional cleaning tools, such as a bucket and a mop, the cost of the equipment may feel like a huge barrier to entry. But what they are missing out on is that this industrial cleaning equipment is actually more effective than what they are currently using, and they are indirectly wasting money by sticking to outmoded cleaning tools.
Traditional Cleaning Tools Are Not Effective
A large area that needs to be constantly kept dust free will take more than a broom or a mop. They say that time is money. And the time it will take to sweep floors, especially large ones, will be very expensive. That is not to mention that fine dust cannot be removed completely with just a broom.
There are sweeping compounds that help in sweeping floor dust, but the cost of buying said compound scales with the size of the floor area will be quite big, and it could easily add up over time. On the other hand, an industrial cleaning equipment will do a much better job the first time around, and will do it in a drastically reduced time frame that translates to cost-savings in terms of time.

Take a few moments out of your day to walk around your property, bring a pad and pencil with you (you can use our “easy outdoor inspection checklist” below as a guide!), take notes, and get some fresh air! Look at the sidewalk, parking lot, street, shrubbery, and signage.  Has all of the winter sand been swept up? If not, our manual push sweeper would be a great item for you! Has your parking lot been seal coated in the past two years? Is your shrubbery overgrown and in need of trimming? Are there unsightly weeds that need to be treated or removed? Does your maintenance sprayer for your weed killer work properly? Next, take some time to look at the outside of your building, does it need a new coat of paint? Are the windows clean? Do your outside mats look worn, do they need to be replaced? How do your outdoor receptacles look, are they in need of replacement?
If you have access to your roof, don’t forget to also check there! Check to make sure the gutters are free of debris, remove any excess leaves or other foreign matter.  If your HVAC unit is roof mounted, make sure you inspect that also.
Remember, all it takes is a few moments of your time to do an outdoor inspection.  It will save you a ton of money in the long run if you keep up with regular maintenance, instead of having to replace big ticket items that could easily have been maintained throughout the years.  You will be surprised what damage Mother Nature has left behind after the cold winter months!
Take pride in the appearance of the outside of your building, you don’t get a second chance to make a good first impression!

Introduction To Industrial Sweepers And Scrubbers For Your Restaurant

When you work in the foodservice industry, cleanliness is a necessity. If you risk cooking in a dirty kitchen, there can be unwanted consequences for both your staff and diners.
There are several kinds of bacteria and viruses that can creep into an unclean kitchen. Experts say that restaurant floors tend to get soiled very quickly during the day, which immediately leads to significant bacteria growth. When this happens, you can be exposed to germs and bacteria, which can lead to several kinds of illnesses and infections.
This is why it’s important to take cleaning seriously. To make sure you can clean effectively and thoroughly, there are a number for professional cleaning equipment like industrial sweepers and scrubbers that you can use.

Floor Sweeper

Before you do anything else, you need to give the floors a good sweep. An industrial sweeper will efficiently sweep any debris and dry dust from the floor. The sweeping speed of this machine can be over three miles per hour so it can sweep a sizable area very quickly. The battery gives good sweepers an average runtime of three hours, giving you more than enough time to spruce up your restaurant floor.
And for something more efficient, you can also opt to get a ride on sweeper. These machines are capable of driving towards any floor dirt to remove it. Moreover, certain models come with a Safety Vision Dumping System so that the operator can easily and safely dispose of any dirt at heights up to 60 inches tall.

floor sweeper

Commercial floor sweepers and scrubbers are a cost-effective way to eliminate dirt, dust, grime and germs. Studies have shown that labor costs represent about 90% of the total cost to maintain floors, and an industrial cleaning machine allows operators to clean more in less time.
Once you’ve made the decision to buy a floor sweeper or scrubber, the next question is: walk-behind or ride-on? In today’s post, we’ll review the pros and cons of each option to help you choose the best sweeper or scrubber for your operation.

Walk Behind vs. Ride OnPros and Cons

Walk-behind machines assist the operator with forward motion - reducing fatigue and allowing operators to cover more ground versus a manual machine. Ride-on machines improve productivity by 400% compared to manual equipment- but aren’t right for every business.
Benefits of Ride-On Floor Cleaning Equipment
The main reason customers choose a ride-on sweeper or scrubber is because they have a large facility to clean. Ride-on sweepers and scrubbers allow operators to make the most of every shift - covering large areas with minimal effort. Ride-on floor cleaning machines offer a 64 percent increase in productivity versus powered walk-behind machines, and the cost of a ride-on vs. a walk-behind model can typically be recouped from labor savings in three to six months. View our current walk-behind sweeper and scrubber inventory
When to Choose a Walk-Behind Sweeper or Scrubber
If the area to be maintained is smaller and / or includes narrow doorways or numerous obstacles, a walk-behind machine is usually the right choice. Walk-behind machines are also better for areas with inclines (such as ramps). View our current walk-behind sweeper and scrubber inventory
